    LOL “Captain Oxymoron”. Was the Red Bellied Lemur wearing a tracking collar?

      Yes, that was a tracking collar. It seems that Ranomafana is a bit of a hotspot for people wanting to do research projects on Madagascar’s wildlife, and so there were radio collars on several of the species we saw there.

      It’s funny, to read some of the other wildlife photography sites and forums you’d think it’s “not worth” photographing an animal with a collar – because it’s somehow no longer properly wild?!?

      As an aside: if I had to pick a favourite lemur, it’d be the red-bellied.
