Singapore snaps

The release of this gallery was postponed due to the need to surprise Tim and Vanessa with Maureen’s new hair. We hope our readers will understand and excuse the delay.

$We found a city full of really good things to eat and drink - though \'salted plum freeze\' might not be everyone\'s thing$

$It\'s also a city graced with architectural achievements of all styles$

$Singapore\'s modern architecture is original and often visually stunning$

$Although I must say that the building with a boat on top, a brand new super-resort, can\'t really be taken seriously$

$This one is locally called \'the durian\' - perhaps in answer to London\'s \'gherkin\'?$

$Thaipusan - a truly eye-opening procession of Hindu devotion. Yes, those are climbing carabiners attaching him to the small wagon he\'s towing$

$This unusually young devotee is holding up a heavy head-piece (note the shoulder pads) but it\'s the stick through the tongue that I can\'t look away from$
