Denmark snaps

A beautiful short break in Denmark, as evidenced by this grab-bag of snaps.

Here we are in Copenhagen, picturesque in places and full of canals
We enjoyed rambling the streets, this spiral spire one of the most interesting sights
We were also looking for modern Nordic cooking, and found it at ever-so-hip Fiskebaren
The highlight of course was lunch at world-renowned Noma
We found a day to take ourselves away from Copenhagen and visit Funen island, scattered with castles
Horne church, one of the finest sights on Funen
The church is as beautiful within as without
Wonderful sunshine lit our day on Funen
Pipstrond, ancient burial mounds in flower-speckled woodlands
Very pretty!
Wood anemones in profusion
We stayed the night at Broholm Slot, rather a splendid overnight
The polar bear rug is a charming decorative touch
Taking tea amidst antiquities and finery
I had to pop outside to capture the red bricks against the setting sun, of course
The main tower at Broholm. Such grand buildings, such tiny bricks
Sipping wine in the baronial dining room at Broholm
The Stone Age museum, a unique little building in the grounds of Broholm
Last day in Copenhagen, rather rainy, we retired to galleries and wandered among sculpture
The Burghers of Calais
And we even did some wildlife watching: red squirrels rule in Copenhagen
